The Lviv City Council was visited by a delegation led by Mona Neubauer, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economics, Industry, Climate Protection, and Energy of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. During the meeting with the Lviv City Mayor, Andriy Sadovyy, they discussed new potential areas of cooperation.

The meeting began with a moment of silence for all fallen defenders who gave their lives in the fight for Ukraine’s independence. Afterwards, the mayor presented the human-centered ecosystem UNBROKEN, where children and adults affected by russia’s war in Ukraine receive medical care, prosthetics, and rehabilitation.

“It is an honor for me to welcome you today. I am grateful for your continuous support of Ukraine and our joint projects – medical, infrastructure, and environmental. Cooperation with German cities and the German government always yields excellent results,” said Andriy Sadovyy.

Vice Prime Minister and Minister Mona Neubauer inquired about the specific areas in which German cities could develop cooperation with Lviv. She was particularly interested in the programs for the rehabilitation and reintegration of veterans that Lviv offers.

“In Germany, when we speak about Ukraine, it is about how to support you. North Rhine-Westphalia supports Ukraine and is ready to assist in your reconstruction. We can discuss your ideas and what you need for concrete support. The integration of wounded soldiers and children is very important to ensure society remains one united community and does not isolate them,” said Mona Neubauer.

Andriy Sadovyy provided more details about mental recovery programs, art therapy, sports, cultural activities, and other initiatives implemented for veterans in Lviv.

The discussion concluded with cooperation in the economic sphere, particularly expanding ties between German and Lviv businesses. The foreign guests also visited the UNBROKEN center to see firsthand how Ukrainian military personnel and civilians are recovering in Lviv.

Additionally, the delegation visited the M10 Industrial Park, where the team from the Investment and Projects Office of the Lviv City Council (Invest in Lviv) presented the city’s investment opportunities and major infrastructure projects.
