On December 18, the session of the Lviv City Council approved a project agreement with the municipality of Breda (the Netherlands) and the “UNBROKEN” Charity Foundation to create an inclusive outdoor playground with rehabilitation equipment and a lift for the physical rehabilitation of patients at St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital (UNBROKEN Kids).

During the City Council session, Breda’s Deputy Mayor Karla Kranenborg-van Eerd joined online and emphasized the importance of supporting Lviv and Ukraine as a whole.

As part of the project, the municipality of Breda will allocate €100,000 to develop the space, which will include:

  • rubber surfacing for the playground and rehabilitation pathways;

  • lighting systems and landscaping of the area;

  • physical rehabilitation equipment;

  • a lift to ensure accessibility for children using wheelchairs.

The first phase of the project is already being implemented with the support of Sigma Software Group, with the participation of Milke and SVL.

“This project is an example of strong international partnership that combines financial support, expertise, and shared values. For Lviv, it is extremely important to invest in projects that have a long-term social impact, especially when it comes to the rehabilitation and support of children. Thanks to our cooperation with the municipality of Breda and the ‘Nezlamni’ Charity Foundation, we will create a modern, accessible, and safe space on the territory of St. Nicholas Hospital that meets international standards of inclusivity. We are sincerely grateful to our Dutch partners for their solidarity with Lviv and Ukraine and for their willingness to invest in recovery and in the future of our children,” said Andrii Pavliv, Head of the Investment and Projects Office of Lviv City Council.
