15 Dec 2023

Today, on December 15, Lviv City Mayor Andriy Sadovyy and the newly appointed EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Mathernova solemnly laid a foundation capsule to start construction of social housing for wounded Ukrainians undergoing rehabilitation.

The social housing construction project is being implemented by the Lviv City Council with the financial support of the European Union as part of the European Union in Ukraine project. EUR 19,5 million in grant funds have been allocated for this project. The first house of this project is to be built by May next year.

Social housing will be built on Mykolaychuk Street, which is part of the UNBROKEN Ukraine ecosystem. Eight houses for 700 people will be built here, where people undergoing long-term rehabilitation will be able to live. They will live in the complex for as long as necessary for their rehabilitation. The project provides for one-, two-, and three-room campuses in the buildings so that people can live here with their families.
