Lviv approves reconstruction project of Mykolaichuka Street with tram line to UNBROKEN
19 May 2025

On May 20, the Executive Committee of the Lviv City Council approved the design and cost documentation for the large-scale reconstruction of Mykolaichuka Street. One of the key elements of the project is the construction of a tram line that will connect the Shevchenkivskyi district with the central part of Lviv.

The implementation of this project is an important step toward improving transport accessibility to medical facilities located in the Mykolaychuka Street area, particularly the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center, where Ukrainian servicemen and civilians affected by the war undergo treatment and rehabilitation.

What does the project include?

  • Reconstruction of a 2.6 km section of the street — from Poltviana Street to the intersection of Mykolaychuka – Projected Street 1 – Projected Street 2;

  • Construction of a new tram line that will provide convenient and fast access to the city center;

  • Work is set to begin this year, starting with a 300-meter section between the intersection with Mazepy Street and Pylypa Orlyka Street.

The next step is launching an international tender, as the project is being implemented with the support of the Government of France, which is providing grant funding for its implementation.
