Lviv continues to actively expand its international economic partnerships and attract investment — even amid the ongoing war. On May 8,the Investment and Project Office of the Department for Economic Development of the Lviv City Council took part in the Ukraine Conference held in Wetzlar, Germany. The event, organized by the German-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Ukraine), served as a key platform for presenting the investment potential of Ukrainian regions to the business community of Central Hesse (Mittelhessen).

During the conference, Oleh Veklyn, Deputy Head of the Investment and Projects Office, delivered a presentation highlighting Lviv’s current investment opportunities and its strategic advantages — including its favorable geographic location, thriving IT ecosystem, industrial parks, skilled labor force, and high level of openness to collaboration. Special emphasis was placed on the city’s urgent needs during wartime, particularly the development of housing, healthcare, and logistics infrastructure for internally displaced persons, military personnel, and veterans.

Among the conference participants were representatives of UkraineInvest, AHK Ukraine, the law firm Baker McKenzie Ukraine, the Germany Trade & Invest agency, and German companies already operating successfully in the Lviv region — including Time&Space Ukraine and Klingspor AG.

Panel discussions addressed the challenges of doing business in Ukraine during wartime, shared success stories of foreign companies, and outlined concrete steps for the country’s future economic recovery.

Once again, Lviv reaffirmed its status as a reliable, transparent partner open to international initiatives and long-term cooperation. The city is actively integrating into the European economic space, demonstrating readiness for projects in manufacturing, IT, logistics, healthcare, and education.
