Lviv continues to develop partnerships aimed at introducing environmentally sustainable and innovative production solutions. The city was visited by Yuko Yasunaga, Deputy to the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), on a working visit.

During his meeting with Lviv City Mayor Andriy Sadovyy and the Head of the Investment and Projects Office of the Lviv City Council, Andriy Pavliv, the parties discussed the implementation of UNIDO’s Green Industrial Recovery Programme for Ukraine for 2024–2028. The programme aims to advance modern technologies, transition to low-carbon production, create new jobs, and attract investment.

Special attention was given to the activities of Japan Desk Lviv — a municipal service supported by UNIDO that helps Ukrainian and Japanese companies find partners, attract investment, and exchange technologies.

“Lviv has a clear vision of its future as a city of innovation and sustainable industry. Cooperation with UNIDO and international partners helps us create more opportunities for businesses and the community. We see how new knowledge, investment, and support for the development of innovative ideas are being transformed into real projects,” said Andriy Pavliv, Head of the Investment and Projects Office of the Lviv City Council.

During the visit, the delegation also toured the UNBROKEN Center, where they met with individuals rebuilding their lives after injuries and developing their own businesses with support from Japan-funded programs.

The visit marked another step toward expanding Lviv’s cooperation with UNIDO and advancing city projects in the field of green economy.
