OKKO restored the first of four houses taken under guardianship after the rocket attack on Lviv

The renovation of an apartment building at 42 Brativ Mikhnovskyh Street in Lviv, which was seriously damaged as a result of the rocket attack on Lviv in September 2024, has been completed. All restoration work worth 4 million UAH was financed and carried out by the OKKO group of companies.

As part of the city initiative “Take Care About Building” OKKO undertook to repair three other houses in the neighborhood (at 36 Mikhnovskyh Street and 20 and 35a Oleny Stepanivny Street). Work on these facilities is in its final stages.

“The house at 42 Mikhnovskyh Street suffered the most damage out of all four that we are restoring. While most of the buildings in the arrival area are low-rise buildings, this building has 5 floors and 48 apartments. Accordingly, the work front here was the largest. And we wanted people to be able to return to their comfortable and safe homes as soon as possible,” says Yaroslava Polyakova, Head of Corporate Communications at OKKO.

As a result of the missile strike, a corner of the building and an apartment on the top floor were partially destroyed. That is why the builders had to dismantle the damaged fragments of the load-bearing wall and build a new one in its place, after which it was covered with insulation. In addition, the roof was restored, monolithic work was carried out to reinforce the floor slabs, and new windows and stairwell doors were installed instead of the broken ones. In several apartments that were damaged, internal repairs were carried out, including replacing heating systems, installing electrical wiring, painting walls, etc.

“The OKKO Group of Companies made the largest contribution within the framework of the “Take Care About Building” initiative to restore four houses in Lviv that were damaged by the Russian missile strike. This is a powerful manifestation of the social responsibility of business, which is decisive in the reconstruction of our city. In total, thanks to the initiative “Take Care About Building”, 21 companies and 14 charitable organizations raised almost UAH 66 million to restore 20 residential buildings. We are sincerely grateful to OKKO and all partners who help rebuild Lviv and support the affected residents of the city,” said Andriy Pavliv, Head of the Investment and Projects Office of the Lviv City Council.

This is not the first time that OKKO has provided assistance to restore infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling. The company allocated more than UAH 42 million for the reconstruction of educational institutions in the Kyiv region. 10 million UAH was transferred to the restoration of the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital in Kyiv. In cooperation with the KSE Foundation, they helped to equip shelters in educational institutions in Kyiv and Khmelnytskyi regions. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the company has directed more than UAH 2.4 billion to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the reconstruction of Ukraine.
