The Investment and Projects Office of the Lviv City Council (Invest in Lviv) paid a working visit to Düsseldorf, where the team organized the Ukrainian-Japanese business seminar “Business Opportunities in Lviv, Western Ukraine” and participated in Japan-Tag Düsseldorf 2026, one of the largest Japanese events in Europe.

The Ukrainian-Japanese business seminar was held in cooperation with the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Germany (JIHK) and JETRO Düsseldorf. The event brought together representatives of 26 Japanese companies operating in Düsseldorf, including Metal One, Sojitz Solvadis, Marubeni-Itochu Steel Europe, and KAMOI Europe.

During the seminar, the Invest in Lviv team presented Lviv’s investment potential, key municipal projects, and the city’s business support services for international investors, including Japan Desk Lviv and German Desk Lviv. The seminar provided a platform for direct dialogue with potential investors and discussions on opportunities for future cooperation.

Representatives of JETRO Warsaw, Fujikura Automotive Ukraine, the European Business Association (EBA), Daiwa House Group, Nippon Koei, and BDP also participated in the event.

The discussions focused on both ongoing joint initiatives and future areas of cooperation. Among the projects presented was a social housing initiative for cancer patients, which the City of Lviv is developing in partnership with Daiwa House Group.

In addition to the business seminar, the Invest in Lviv team participated in Japan-Tag Düsseldorf 2026. The event provided an opportunity to expand professional networks, gain a deeper understanding of the interests and needs of Japanese businesses, and further promote Lviv as a reliable partner for investment and joint projects.

Following the visit, the team will continue developing the new connections established in Düsseldorf and preparing the next joint initiatives, including the Ukrainian-Japanese Business Forum and the Japanese Culture Days in Lviv, both scheduled to take place in autumn 2026.
