Lviv Discusses Attracting Spanish Business to City Projects with the Spanish Office for the Reconstruction of Ukraine
29 Oct 2026

Lviv presented the city’s investment opportunities to a delegation from the Spanish Office for the Reconstruction of Ukraine. The parties discussed the prospects of involving Spanish companies in infrastructure projects, urban development and the reconstruction of Ukraine.

The delegation, led by the Office’s Director Clara Guzmán Zapater, visited Lviv together with representatives of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in Ukraine.

During the visit, the Spanish partners toured the UNBROKEN rehabilitation centre and social housing. They were introduced to Lviv’s experience in building infrastructure for medical rehabilitation, social adaptation and the return to independent living for people affected by the war.

At the meeting at Lviv City Council, Lviv City Mayor Andrii Sadovyy and the team of the Investment and Projects Office of Lviv City Council (Invest in Lviv) presented potential projects for cooperation with Spanish business. In particular, they discussed opportunities for Spanish companies to take part in developing the city’s infrastructure and implementing reconstruction projects.

Spanish companies are already contributing to Lviv’s development. Quintas Energy, for example, donated solar panels and batteries for the solar power plant at St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital. This equipment helps the hospital maintain its power supply during outages.

Another example of cooperation is the Cultural Hub in Lviv, opened with support from Spain in partnership with UNESCO.

The meeting with the Spanish Office for the Reconstruction of Ukraine gave Lviv an opportunity to present specific areas of cooperation to the Spanish side and to discuss involving companies in the city’s future projects.

Background

The Spanish Office for the Reconstruction of Ukraine is a specialised body of the Spanish government created to coordinate the participation of Spanish business in Ukraine’s recovery. It operates on a “one-stop-shop” principle for companies interested in the Ukrainian market, helping them establish business contacts, identify financing opportunities and join infrastructure and investment projects. It is headed by Clara Guzmán Zapater.
