European Investment Bank Representative Visits Lviv to Review Key Infrastructure Projects

From March 4 to 7, Lviv hosted a visit from István Heinzinger, Senior Transport Economist at the European Investment Bank (EIB). The purpose of the visit was to familiarize with the successful implementation of important city projects funded by the bank and discuss further cooperation.

During the visit, István Heinzingger, alongside city officials, toured the bus and tram depots, as well as the new trams purchased with EIB funds. The delegation also showcased the successful implementation of the joint project involving the purchase of 10 new 5-section tram cars.

The visit included a tour of the Unbroken rehabilitation center, where several infrastructure projects aimed at improving transportation and pedestrian accessibility are planned.

Key topics of the meetings included:

  • The development of Lviv’s transport strategy and public transport modernization.
  • Improving road safety.
  • The construction of a new tram line on Mykolaychuka Street.

This visit marked an important step in enhancing cooperation between Lviv and the European Investment Bank, highlighting the success of joint projects that contribute to the city’s infrastructure improvement.
