The visit began on October 30 with a meeting of the delegation with the Lviv City Mayor Andriy Sadovyy.
Among the guests are representatives of companies working in the fields of agricultural production, water technologies, engineering, artificial intelligence, satellite monitoring, processing and cooling of products. Japanese entrepreneurs are looking for Ukrainian partners for joint projects – from the production of agrodrones and water purification systems to the development of “smart” farming and the supply of refrigeration equipment.
Lviv City Mayor Andriy Sadovyy emphasized during the meeting that Lviv is open to international cooperation: «Together we can create a good future. I can’t think like you and you — like me. But we can work together in the future. Russia will not stop only at Ukraine, and you understand that. Both in the past and in the future, we have to stand by and help each other».
The delegation includes representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Japan, in particular the Deputy Director-General of Japan’s Export and International Affairs Bureau Ken Sasaji and Counselor of the same department Yuichi Moronaga.
Japanese companies presented a number of technological solutions for the development of the Ukrainian agricultural sector. Specifically:
C&E Company — robots and drones for agricultural automation;
Sagri Co. Ltd — precision farming systems based on AI and satellite data;
Waqua Inc. — mobile water purification and desalination plants;
Mayekawa — energy efficient refrigeration systems and heat pumps;
Atago Corporation — devices for crop quality control and initiatives in the field of grain export;
ITOCHU Corporation — is interested in exporting Ukrainian vegetables and fruits and investing in logistics.
This visit is already the second for Japanese business in Lviv. The previous delegation, which arrived in July, has already found Ukrainian partners and is in the process of receiving grants from the UNIDO program.
Next week, Lviv expects another delegation from Japan — this time from the fields of logistics, IT, construction and health care. All visits are organized according to the industry principle in order to form targeted partnerships between Ukrainian and Japanese businesses.
