Lviv Showcased Recovery Projects and Investment Opportunities to International Partners at Taiwan Expo 2026 in Warsaw
23 Jun 2026

The Investment and Projects Office of the Lviv City Council (Invest in Lviv) presented the city at Taiwan Expo 2026, a leading international exhibition showcasing Taiwanese technologies and smart solutions in Europe. As part of the Ukrainian national pavilion, Lviv was introduced as a city with strong innovation capacity and significant investment potential.

The Ukrainian pavilion was organized in partnership with IRON Cluster, Lviv IT Cluster, the European Business Association (EBA), and the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP).

During a business seminar dedicated to Ukraine’s reconstruction, the Invest in Lviv team presented the city’s investment opportunities, flagship recovery projects, healthcare infrastructure development initiatives, and the implementation of digital solutions. Special attention was given to the growing partnership between Lviv and Taiwan, highlighting its evolution from humanitarian assistance to a long-term strategic partnership.

Among the key milestones of Lviv–Taiwan cooperation are:

  • 5 million euros allocated by Taiwan for the reconstruction of the rehabilitation center on Pekarska Street. A memorandum of cooperation has been signed, and the UNBROKEN Rehabilitation Center is now 90% complete and approaching its official opening. The facility has become a symbol of the partnership between Lviv and Taiwan.
  • The Taiwanese city of  Kaohsiung joined the international UNBROKEN Cities initiative. The agreement was signed by Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyy and Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai.
  • Humanitarian assistance: In April 2026, 68 specialized rescue and medical vehicles were delivered through Lviv to frontline communities across Ukraine. Taiwanese medical professionals also donated a mobile dental clinic and an ambulance for Ukrainian service members.
  • SmartCare Lviv 2026–2029, a 5.6 million dollars initiative, will introduce digital technologies and smart solutions into Lviv’s healthcare system.
  • Go Healthy with Taiwan: Through a grant provided by TAITRA, networking equipment was purchased to ensure stable internet connectivity at St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital.
  • A visit to Lviv by James C. F. Huang (Chi-Fang Huang), Chairman of  TAITRA, accompanied by representatives of leading Taiwanese media outlets.
  • Business missions to Taiwan: With TAITRA’s support, 13 Lviv-based companies participated in the first business mission to Taiwan in 2025. In 2026, another delegation joined the Ukraine Reconstruction Delegation, strengthening business ties and exploring new investment opportunities.

Today, the partnership between Lviv and Taiwan extends well beyond wartime support. It is evolving into a long-term collaboration in investment, technology, healthcare, and innovation, creating a strong foundation for Ukraine’s economic recovery and future development.
