Lviv Strengthens Cooperation with JICA: Joint Implementation of Recovery Projects and UNBROKEN
07 Jul 2026

A delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), led by Senior Vice President Yoshifumi Yoshikawa, visited Lviv. The visit began with paying tribute to Ukrainian defenders at the Field of Honorable Burials.

The key event was a meeting with Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyy, during which the parties discussed further cooperation between Lviv and JICA. The primary focus was on the implementation of the UNBROKEN Surgical Hospital construction project, which is being developed under a public-private partnership model. The project is open to private partners and was previously presented to potential investors during the Bidders Conference ahead of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026) in Gdansk.

As part of the visit, the delegation familiarized themselves with the city’s key projects in healthcare, housing infrastructure, and economic development. In particular, JICA representatives visited the UNBROKEN rehabilitation center, social housing facilities, and the “Formatia. Lviv” industrial park.

JICA is one of Ukraine’s international partners in the sphere of recovery and development. The delegation’s visit to Lviv marks another step in advancing cooperation and exchanging experience in the implementation of reconstruction projects.
