17 Feb 2026

A delegation from the Swedish Red Cross, led by Secretary General Ulrika Modéer, visited the UNBROKEN rehabilitation center in Lviv. During the visit, the parties discussed practical aspects of international support for the rehabilitation and recovery of people affected by the war.

The delegation paid particular attention to the approaches used at the UNBROKEN center to provide comprehensive support to patients — from medical and psychological rehabilitation to social reintegration after severe injuries.

During the visit, the Swedish partners learned about the work of the center’s multidisciplinary team and saw how modern medical practices are combined with the support of international partners to create a comprehensive recovery ecosystem.

Representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross and regional Red Cross structures also participated in the meetings. The participants discussed both the implementation of current humanitarian projects and the long-term needs of the region in the field of rehabilitation and support for those affected.

The visit became part of a broader dialogue between international humanitarian organizations and local authorities on how to effectively invest resources in the recovery of people and communities in the context of the ongoing war.
