04 Feb 2024

The city of Trento has joined the UNBROKEN Cities network and donated more than 16,000 euros to Lviv, which were raised by the Aquila Basket Trento basketball team. This took place during the participation of Lviv City Mayor Andriy Sadovyy in the inauguration of Trento as the European Volunteering Capital. The inauguration was also attended by Italian President Sergio Mattarella, who publicly expressed his support for Ukraine.

UNBROKEN Cities is a network of cities from around the world that was launched in November 2023 to support and develop rehabilitation in Ukraine. Manchester, Liverpool and Lviv became its founders and first members. The idea for the initiative arose after Lviv City Mayor Andriy Sadovyy met with Manchester City Mayor Andy Burnham, who was impressed by the idea and mission of UNBROKEN Ukraine. The initiative was launched in Krakow. To date, the German city of Würzburg and the Danish city of Aarhus have already joined the initiative.
