A bookstore with artistic elements is being created in the premises of the former city railway ticket office at Hnatyuka Street, 20-22
19 Mar 2025

In the heart of Lviv, on the site of the former railway ticket office, a new cultural gem of the city is about to open — the bookstore “History.” This project combines literature, art, and innovation, promising to become a unique art hub for the residents and visitors of Lviv.

Before the large-scale renovation works begin, from February 26 to March 1, the premises hosted open house days where Lviv residents were able to familiarize themselves with the concept of the future space and share their own ideas. Among the first events were a charity concert by the band “Zhadan i Sobaky,” a DJ set by SKOVOREMIX, and an exhibition collaboration with the social comics magazine Inker.

What does the investment project entail?

  • Three bookshop halls with a curated selection of literature
  • A coworking space for presentations, discussions, and workshops
  • An exhibition space for storytelling through art
  • Support programs for artists, writers, and media

This project is being realized with the support of the publishing house “Choven,” the winner of the Lviv City Council’s investment competition.

What’s next?
After the open house days, comprehensive renovation and restoration works will begin. The premises, covering more than 380 m², will be adapted to modern needs while preserving the historical heritage of the building.
