How do the cities and towns of Ukraine live during the war?

Today the IX All-Ukrainian Forum on Local Self-Governance took place, which became a platform for discussing challenges and opportunities for Ukrainian communities during the war.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksii Chernyshov, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Tymoshenko, People’s Deputies of Ukraine and heads of urban communities discussed the strategy and powers of cities.

During the financial panel, the participants discussed the mechanisms of stimulating local economic development, in particular, the importance of reverse subsidy, preservation of personal income tax, creation and development of industrial parks, attracting funds from international financial organizations, creation of the Fund for liquidation of the consequences of armed aggression.

How will the energy front be held? Representatives of relevant Committees of the VRU, relevant ministries and local self-government bodies discussed possible scenarios for the heating season.

The topic of one of the panel discussions was the role of agglomerations in the conditions of war and post-war reconstruction.

In addition, city leaders from different regions of Ukraine had the opportunity to share their experiences of how cities help Ukrainians.
