Lviv IT Cluster is the winner of the competition to select an investor for the project of the Research Centre for Engineering Students

On October 13, 2023, the Сompetition Сommission of the Lviv City Council chose Lviv IT Cluster as the winner of the Research Center for Engineering Students competition. The next stage of the project will be the signing of an agreement with the Lviv IT Cluster (Association “Lviv Cluster of Information Technologies and Business Services”).

According to the terms of the competition, Lviv IT Cluster is to reconstruct a building at 5 Kalicha Hora Street and implement a project for a Research Centre with 11 cross-functional laboratories in the areas of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, robotics, bioengineering, human-machine interaction, machining, cybersecurity, AR/VR and Gamedev technologies, and Design Thinking. The Centre will also create open spaces, lecture halls, and meeting rooms. Students, postgraduates, and researchers in the relevant specialties will have free access to the Centre’s equipment, supplies and premises. Mentors from the winner’s best tech companies will accompany the projects of the scientists.

Lviv IT Cluster is the largest tech association in Ukraine, uniting more than 270 companies and startups and over 90,000 professionals who, together with universities and city authorities, improve and develop IT in the city. The Lviv IT Cluster Association was founded in 2012 by SoftServe Inc., Eleks, and N-iXLviv IT Cluster implements the VO-Tech Academy program to update curricula in vocational schools as well as the Students startups programme, which has supported more than 100 student startup projects. In particular, the Lviv IT Cluster has modernized 19 bachelor’s degree programs at four universities in the city. The vision of Lviv IT Cluster is to help transform Lviv into an innovative and investment-attractive world-class technology centre.
