Swiss investor Harald Binder opened Jam Factory Art Center in Lviv
18 Nov 2023

On November 18, 2023, the Jam Factory Art Center for Contemporary Art was publicly opened with over 3000 visitors. The vision of the Jam Factory Art Center project is to create an open platform that will bring together young Ukrainian and European artists and anyone interested in art.

The idea to create the Center belongs to Swiss investor Harald Binder, who bought the abandoned Jam Factory in 2015 and decided to restore the historic building and create a contemporary art center on its basis. “It took 8 years to revitalize the Jam Factory in Lviv.

Lviv City Mayor Andriy Sadovyy noted that now this place will become an important part of the cultural life of not only Lviv but also the whole of Ukraine, as artists of different trends and directions have the opportunity to create, present their work and enrich Ukrainian culture.

The event program included exhibitions, curatorial and author tours, and musical performances. All exhibitions are open to the public. In addition, together with the Come Back Alive Foundation, the event organizers launched a fundraiser for the demining of the territories in the amount of UAH 1 million.

Congratulations to Harold Binder, Bożena Pelenska and the entire project team! The opening of Jam Factory Art Center during the war is a great example of Ukrainian resilience!
