The mayor of Lviv met with the head of the JICA office in Ukraine

On June 3, the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, met with the head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) office in Ukraine, Hideki Matsunaga.

The meeting was also attended by the first deputy mayor, Andriy Moskalenko; the deputy mayor for international cooperation, Serhiy Kiral; the chief architect of Lviv, Anton Kolomoytsev; and the head of the investment and project management department, Andriy Pavliv. During the meeting, they discussed support for the development of the UNBROKEN human ecosystem, including the idea of building a surgical center on the territory of the First Medical Association of Lviv, according to a project by the world-renowned Japanese architect Shigeru Ban. Hideki Matsunaga also visited the National Rehabilitation Center “UNBROKEN”.

Additionally, they discussed industrial parks in Lviv, the need to improve railway transport infrastructure, the modernization of rolling stock and railway tracks, and the city’s electricity generation needs.

It is worth noting that in Ukraine, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is implementing cooperation projects amounting to more than 150 billion yen. These projects’ priority areas are Ukraine’s reconstruction and restoration.
